affect the economic and social advancement of a country? Discuss this issue in the context of the rural population in India.

1    Inspite of many efforts that have been taken    20 by the Government of India under the various Five Year Plans to improve the quality of life of the rural masses, the situation has not yet improved to any appreciable extent. Why?

2    What are the major short-comings of the rural 20 education in India? Explain how these short-comings

be removed by the Government and other voluntary organisations.

2 Elementary Education in the rural sector of India 20 has not prospered mainly due to the extremely poor infrastructural facilities. Comment upon this statement.

What measures would you like to suggest to improve these facilities?

3 What are the problems of health and hygiene of 20 the rural people in our country? Explain how mal nutrition has been responsible for affecting the physical and mental health of those people and spreading many dangerous diseases.
