5 Read the following case study and attempt the questions given at the end
ABC Ltd is a Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of Maruti Udyog Limited (MUL) and is consistently supplying auto parts to MUL It faced challenges once

when MUL asked to reduce the prices of the products and it could pass the challenges of that time by automating the processes at the plant After the launch of Nano Car again the pressure to produce low price car has come and MUL has asked once again its suppliers to reduce the pnces of auto components ABC Ltd has already done automation and is m a fix about how to reduce the pnces further by reducing cost The CEO of ABC Ltd Mr Ram contacted a Management Consultant Mr Shyam and he said that he will have to do system study before giving any comments Shyam took one month to study the entire system and processes and found the following
(1) Automation was done without reengineering the processes
(n) The hierarchies also were the same m the ABC Ltd (m) The suppliers of ABC Ltd were also the same from a nearby place since the inception of ABC Ltd
(iv) Quality assurance program was there but six sigma was not in use
