1. Define Library Catalogue. explain the need and purpose of Library Catalogue.
2. Differentiate Dictionary Catalogue and Classified Catalogue.
3. Write an essay on ISBD.
4. Describe the sears list of subject heading.
5. Explain the structure and details of library card Catalogue.
6. Explain the different parts of main entry according to AACR II with examples.
7. Discuss the option and rendering of heading for corporate bodies according to CCC and AACR II.
8. Write short note son canon of ascertainability and cannon of sought headings.
PART B — (4 × 15 = 60 marks)
ans 4 ques. in about 400 words every.
9. Give a brief account on POPSI in deriving Indexing term.
10. Define chain procedure and discuss the steps and procedure adopted in deriving Class Index Entry.
11. Explain the symbiosis ranging from classification and Cataloging.
12. What do you mean by co-operative Cataloguing. How does it differ from centralized Cataloging? Illustrate with example.
13. Explain in detail the different physical forms of library Catalogue with examples.
14. Explain the concept of main entry as per Classified Catalogue code and AACR II.
15. Write an essay on the Genesis of various cataloguing codes since 1930.
