21. Keeping your children in check is very important. It is your

respons ibility to make sure that they behave thems elves. Do not permit them to be unruly or very demanding. Do not expect your host or hostess to run after children and keep a check on their activities; it

may prove to be a very trying and exasperating task. So instruct your children before hand as to how to behave at the new household. Admonish them not to throw tantrums or fuss too much. Make sure they eat whatever is placed on the table. They may be fussy eaters at home, but must learn to eat whatever is cooked at another house.

See to it that children do not get involved in fights with your hosts children. Even if they do, restrain from making an issue of it even if you know that the other party is at fault. Above all, do not take the matter to their parents and demand an apology. Remember, children are innocent and open - hearted. One moment they fight and in a split second they are together, everything forgotten. Be tactful when settling childrens disputes.

Remember, if you expect hospitality, reciprocate it with love, affection and extra care from your side.
