(v) Settling time.
21. describe Dlay time:
I is the time taken for response to reach 50% of the final value, for the very 1st time.
22. describe rise time:
It is the time taken for response to raise from 0 to 100% for the very 1st time.
??For underdamped system, the rise time is computed from 0 to 100%.
??For overdamped system it is the time taken by the response to raise from 10% to 90%.
??For critically damped system, it is the time taken for response to raise from 5% to 95%.
23. describe Peak time:
It is the time taken for the response to reach the peak value for the very 1st time (or) It is the time taken for the response to reach peak overshoot, Mp .
24. describe Peak overshoot:
It is described as the ratio of the maximum peak value measured from final value to final value.
25. describe settling time:
It is described as the time taken by the response to reach and stay within a specified fault and the fault is usually specified as % of final value. The usual tolerable fault is 2% or 5% of the final value.
26. What is kind number of a system? What is its significance?
The kind number is provided by number of poles of loop transfer function at the origin. The kind number of the system decides the steady state fault.
27. Distinguish ranging from kind and order of a system:
(i) kind number is specified for loop transfer function but order can be specified for any transfer function. (open loop or closed loop transfer function).
(ii) The kind number is provided by number of poles of loop transfer function lying at origin of s-plane but the order is provided by the number of poles of transfer function.
28. What is steady state error?
The steady state fault is the value of fault signal e(t), when t tends to infinity . The steady state fault is a measure of system accuracy. These errors arise from the nature of inputs, kind of system and from non-linearity of system components.
29. describe acceleration fault constant:
The acceleration fault constant Ka = lim S2 G(s) H(s).
s _ 0
The steady state fault in type-2 system for unit parabolic input is provided by 1/Ka .
30. elaborate generalized fault coefficients?
They are the coefficients of generalized fault series. The generalized fault series is provided by
e(t) = C0r(t) + C1 r (t) + (C2/2!) r\'\'(t) + (C3/3!) r\'\'\'(t) + ............. + (Cn/n!) rn\'(t).The coefficients C0, C1, C2 , ......,Cn are called generalized fault coefficients or dynamic fault coefficients.
