TWO questions from Uunit - II 

 

1) Annotate any FOUR of the following :

5) Critically comment on the plot and theme of The Rivals. 
6) Write a critical essay on contribution of 18th Century Dramatists. 
UNIT - II 
7) Examine the supernatural element in The Rape of the Lock. 
8) Discuss the features of a Ballad in Rime of the Ancient Mariner. 
9) Bring out the characteristic features of a pastoral elegy in Adonias. 
10) Write a critical note on Lamb's prose style in the essays prescribed for your study. 
11) Discuss Jane Austen's use of irony in Emma. 
12) Examine Goldsmith's art of characterisation in She Stoops to conquer.
