Questions in Unit –I is compulsory.
Answer any TWO questions from Unit –II and TWO questions from Unit –III.
All questions carry equal marks.

UNIT– I

1) Annotate any Four of the following:
a) Coleridge was perhaps the greatest of English critics and in a sense the
last.

Discuss.

6) “Women and fiction remain, so far as I am concerned, unsolved problems”-
Discuss in view of Virginia Woolf’s A Room of one’s own.

11) Evaluate C.P. Snow’s novel The Masters as a political novel.

12) Sketch the character of Bill Mor in The Sandcastle.
13) Bring out the significance of the title The Lord of the Flies.

14) Discuss the novel’s title – where are “power” and “glory” found in the book?

15) Write short notes on any four of the following:

e) Irony as Technique.
