1.         What is the major application of image processing in the visual spectrum?

2.         Mention the two phenomena which demonstrate that perceived brightness is not a simple

           function of intensity.

3.         Name two devices that use the Power Law transformation for image enhancement.

4.         How image zooming is achieved?

5.         What type of degradation affects the image due to motion in image capturing?

6.         What is Pseudo color image processing?

7.         Define what is information preserving compression scheme.

8.         What is the effect of image block size on the transform coding performance?

9.         State the principle of edge linking based on local processing.

10.       What is Multispectral thresholding?

11.  With an example, explain how to establish 8-connectivity and m- connectivity among the pixels in an image.

12.       Define the Laplacian operator and explain the effect of this operator on the image.

13.       Explain how the colors are represented using HSI color model.

14.       Write the general procedure for Huffman coding algorithm.

15.       Explain how an image is segmented using detection discontinuities.
