8. Give an account on performance appraisal.
PART B — (4 × 15 = 60 marks)
Answer any FOUR questions in about 400 words each.
All questions carry equal marks.
9. Bring out the importance of various management theories.
10. Discuss the characteristics of library as non-profit organisation.
11. Prepare an organisational chart diagram for a university library and explain the necessary coordination between the sections.
12. Explain the features of MBO and discuss how it can be applied in libraries.
13. Describe the procedures and problems in recruiting library staff in India.
14. What are the principles underlying scientific management? Elucidate your answer with suitable examples from library management.
15. Short notes on:
(a) 14 Principles of Fayol
(b) PERT and CPM
(c) Decision flow chart.
