PART A — (5 × 8 = 40 marks)
Answer any FIVE questions.
1. What do you mean by barriers to communication? How and why do they occur?
2. Bring out the qualities of a good business letter.
3. Draft a favourable reply for the enquiry about the M/S Kavitha Textiles.
4. What are adjustment letters? What are the points to be considered while drafting adjustment letters?
5. State the various occasions for drafting circular letters.
6. Write any four types of export correspondence.
7. Explain briefly the different parts of a business letter.
8. As a Secretary of a company, draft a letter to the shareholders giving them a brief assessment of the present working of the company as well as the future prospects.
PART B — (4 × 15 = 60 marks)
Answer any FOUR questions.
9. Define communication. Briefly explain the different types of communication.
10. Discuss briefly the layout of a good business letter.
11. Explain why a complaint letter should be immediately attended to.
12. Place an order for the supply of Designers shirts with Anand Textiles Ltd.
13. Write an application for the post of a Sales executive in a company.
14. A customer of your bank applied for a loan of Rs.1,00,000 against a building. As a manager of a bank, write a tactful reply regretting to grant the loan applied for.
15. Draft the minutes of the Board meeting of Dinesh Ltd., Madurai.
