1. Classify antiarrhythmic agents. Describe the mechanism of action, mode of administration and therapeutic uses of Xylocaine (Lidocaine or Lignocaine).
2. Write short notes on the following:-
 (a) Metronidazole
 (b) Parenteral iron preparations
 (c) Hormonal contraceptives
 (d) Antiplatelet agents.
3. Briefly explain the pharmacological basis of use of the following:-
 (a) Thiazide diuretics in hypertension
 (b) Calcium channel blockers (CCB) in Angina
 (c) ACE inhibitors in C.H.F.

4. Describe the following in brief:-
 (a) Anabolic steroids
 (b) Drugs used in Acne Vulgaris
 (c) Fluoroquinolones
 (d) Methotrexate as antineoplastic agent
 (e) Nitrofurantoin (NFT) as urinary antiseptic
 (f) Drugs used in psedomembranous colitis
 (g) Drugs used in chloroquin resistant falciparum malaria
 (h) Clomiphen
 (i) Oral anticoagulants
 (j) Beta-lactamase inhibitors.
