The planning process: HRP essentially involves forecasting personnel needs, assessing personnel supply and matching, demand supply factors through personnel related programmes.

ANS:
Recruitment is the process of searching for and obtaining applications so as to build a pool to job seekers from whom the right people for the right jobs may be opted.
The purpose of recruitment is to build a pool of applicants; it represents the 1st contact a company makes with potential employees. It is done well outcomes in a better selection.
Both external as well as internal factors would govern the recruitment process. Demand and supply of specific skills unemployment rate, labor market conditions legal and political considerations and the company’s image are that external factors among the internal factors are recruiting policy of the organization; Decision to have temporary and part time employees.

Recruitment is a 5 step process:
Planning:
Involves the translation of likely job vacancies and info about the nature of these jobs in a set of objectives or targets that specify a) number b) kind of applicants to be contacted;
Number: organization always plans to attract more applicants than they will hire. Generated resumes from 2000 applicants of which 200 were judged to be qualified.
kind of contacts: refers to the kind of people to be informed about job openings, the kind of people depends on the tasks and responsibilities involved and the qualifications and experience expected. These details are available through job description and job specification.
Strategy development:
Once it is known how many and what kinds of recruits are required, serious considerations needs to be provided to:
1. Make or buy employees,
2. Technological sophistication,
3. Geographic distribution of labor markets comprising global seeker,
4. Sources of recruitment,
5. Sequencing the activities in the recruitment process.
Searching: once recruiting plan and strategy are worked out the search process can start as search involves 2 steps

1) Source activation are activated by the issuance of an employee requisitions, this means that no true recruiting takes place until managers have verified that a vacancy exists or will exist. If the organization has planned well and done a good job of developing its sources and search methods, activation soon outcomes in a flood of application or resumes.
