Organizational Behavior
Q.1: A) elaborate the 3 levels of analysis in our OB model? Are they related? If so how?
ANS:
Organizational behavior is the study that investigates the impact that individuals, groups and structure have on behavior within organizations for the purpose of applying such knowledge towards improving an organization’s effectiveness. If can also be described as a study of individual and group dynamics in an organizational setting, as well as the nature of organizations themselves. Whenever people interact in an organization, these factors come into play. Organizational studies attempt to understand and model these factors.
Three level of analysis in OB model are:
Individual level
Group level
Organization systems level.
These 3 levels are basically constructed 1 on the other, i.e., group level grow out of the foundation laid by the individual level. These are overlaid with structural constraints on the individual and group level in order to arrive at the organizational behavior.
All the 3 levels are related to every other and the variables in these truly have an impact on every other. They are linked across the 3 levels.
Individual level: at this level it involves only an individual and has variables such as ability, values and attitudes, personality, emotions and variables such as perception, motivation and learning patterns which in turn lead to individual decision making. Characteristics like values, attitudes, basic ability levels are essentially in place when an individual enters a workplace and mostly the management cannot do anything to alter it.
Group level: This involves a set of people working collectively to reach their goals. This has variables such as structure, teams. Internal conflict, power and politics. Communication from individuals’ level to this level helps in the group decision making, which also contributes to the leaders and builds trust.
Organizational Systems level: All the variables in the individual and group level would determine and have an impact on the organizational level. These variables would then determine the organizational culture, which in turn would contribute to the organizational structure and H R policies and practices.
Thus, the relations ranging from these 3 levels can be summarized as human inputs at the individual level, which in turn would becomes the human output at the organization systems level. These outputs would be the productivity, absence, turnover, satisfaction and citizenship.

Q.1: B) What contingency factors can improve the relationship ranging from attitude and behavior?
ANS:
Attitude is an emotion that all people get when they other emotions. Attitudes are positive, negative or neutral views of an “attitude object”, i.e., a person, behavior or an event. Attitudes typically come from judgments.
The link ranging from the attitude and behavior exists, but depends upon human behavior. Factors which can improve the statistical relationships ranging from attitudes and behavior are:
