Instructions for the students :

1. All ques. are compulsory.
2. “Long ans kind ques. (LAQ)” is a supply kind ques. of 20 marks,
which require typical ans of about 60-80 lines in about 32-40 minutes.
3. “Short ans kind ques. (SAQ)” is a supply kind ques. of five marks,
which require typical ans of about 15-20 lines in about 08-10 minutes.
4. Use of non-programmable kind of scientific calculator is allowed.
5. Draw neat diagrams wherever necessary.
6. presume suitable data if necessary.


1. discuss the different kind of scales used in engineering drawing
practice with proper explanatory sketch.

2. (a) The major and minor axes of an ellipse measure 100 mm
and 70 mm respectively. Draw an ellipse by the rectangle
method. (oblong method)
(b) A circle of 50 mm diameter rolls on circumference of a different
circle of 150 mm diameter externally. Draw an epicycloid as
the locus of points on the circumference of a rolling circle for
one complete revolution.


3. Figure one indicates the pictorial view of an object.

4 A pentagonal pyramid, side of base 25 mm and height 60 mm
has 1 of its slant (triangular) face on the H.P. and the edge of
base contained by that slant edge makes an angle 30 degree to
the V.P. Draw its projections.

Short ans kind ques. (SAQ’s)

discuss briefly single stroke letters and gothic letters.

6. Inscribe a circle in a regular pentagon of side 50 mm. Measure
the radius of a circle.

7. The front view of a 75 mm long line measures 55 mm. The line
is parallel to the H.P. and 1 of its end is in the V.P. and 25 mm
above the H.P. Draw the projections of line and determine its
inclination with V.P.

8. discuss the term ‘solids of revolution.’
