Instructions for the students :
1. All ques. are compulsory.
2. “Long ans kind ques. (LAQ)” is a supply kind ques. of 20 marks,
which require typical ans of about 60-80 lines in about 32-40 minutes.
3. “Short ans kind ques. (SAQ)” is a supply kind ques. of five marks,
which require typical ans of about 15-20 lines in about 08-10 minutes.
4. Use of non-programmable kind of scientific calculator is allowed.
5. Draw neat diagrams wherever necessary.

Long ans kind ques. (LAQ’s)
1. (a) Draw and discuss block diagram of 8255.
(b) Draw the format of control word for 8255 and discuss its bit
set/ reset mode.

2. (a) discuss the subsequent sensors/ transducers.

(b) Draw and discuss the operation of 4-bit binary weighted D/A

8086 and discuss it.
(b) With the help of a block diagram discuss bow DMA controller
operates in a microcomputer system.


4 Draw a block diagram of 8251 USART and discuss it. Draw the
format of mode word and command word.

5. Draw a flowchart to interface a matrix keyboard to processor. 5
