(b) define the function and operation of an electromagnetic
brake.


3. (a) List position sensors. discuss the working of an optical
Rotary encoder.
(b) describe the terms-Accuracy, Precision, Repeatability,
Sensitivity and Resolution.


4 (a) What is a Stepper Motor ? With a neat sketch discuss the
principle of operation of a Permanent Magnet Stepper Motor.
(b) With a neat sketch discuss the working of a basic pneumatic
system.
