UNIT-I

3. (a) What do you understand by the terms Stimulated absorption. Spontaneous emission and Stimulated emission ?

(b) Draw a neat diagram of He-Ne laser and define the method of its working. [10]

4. (a) Derive an expression for acceptance angle and numerical aperture, in optical fibre.[10]

(b) What do you understand by Single mode ant Multimode fibre ? [5]

UNIT-III

5. (a) State and prove Gauss's legal regulations in electrostatic.How Gauss's legal regulations is applied to obtain the electric fit due to a infinite line charge ? [15]

6.(a) Deduce an expression for energy stored in dielectric in electrostatic field. [10]
