The need for closer interaction ranging from tech. institutions and industry has been emphasized time and again. It is of great importance that tech. institutions and industry should act as partners in the development of a technologist and every must play the role that it is best fitted for. The need for such close interaction and collaboration has become all the more urgent in view of the challenge posed by the recent situations in the field of tech. education which require greater attention to a number of important factors. These improvement of the quality of tech. education, diversification of courses, development of the faculty of tech. institutions by way of training of teachers, development of the curriculum to make the courses move live and dynamic and organization of sandwich courses to effect a break through in new directions.
