BACHELOR OF EDUCATION

TEACHING OF ENGLISH

TIME: 3HRS. MAX. MARKS: 60.

part – A (24 MARKS)

Attempt any 4 ques. from the subsequent part. every ques. carries six mark. Word limit for an ans is 250 words.

1. Identify the features of English language.


2. Describe the objectives of teaching English at elementary school level.


3. Discuss the strategies of ensuring interactive environment in the English classroom.


4. List the guidelines for conducting action research to remedy issues in learning English.


5. Define valuation. List the techniques you would use to evaluate learners achievement in English.

part – B (20 MARKS)

Attempt any 2 ques. from the subsequent part. every ques. carries 10 marks. Word limit for an ans is 400 words.

6. “Direct method ensures fluency, grammar, translation method measures accuracy but Bilingual method answers both.” explain.


7. If you put in charge of teaching English to the beginner, what audio- visual aids would you require and how would you use them?


8. What is pedagogical analysis? How is such an analysis useful for a teacher of English in her/ his teaching?

part – C (16 MARKS)

Compulsory ques.. Word limit for the ans is 800 words.

9. Read the poem and ans the ques. provided below:

There’s a neat little clock,
In the school room it stands,
And it points to the time,
With its 2 little hands.

And may we, like the clock,
Keep a face clean & bright,
With hands ready,
To do what right.

a) Formulate the general and specific objectives, relevant learning experiences for the provided poem. Also draw a plan of evaluating the student achieving of students.
b) What teaching aids would you use? discuss with pictures.
