Part A
1. Bring out the salient features of structural approach and communicative approach in ELT. Illustrate with examples.
2. Briefly discuss the need for developing the skill of listening English in our schools. How can it be done? Suggest a suitable testing programme.
3. With the help of specific examples, discuss the activities you would organize for the creative use of English.
4. How do you construct a diagnostic test? Bring out the difference ranging from achievement test and diagnostic test with the help of examples from your familiarity with research work.

5. How can we make our English tests as tests of language rather than of mere memory?
6. What is action research? elaborate the main steps involved in it?
7. define briefly the contribution of psychology of ELT.
8. Enumerate a few issues faced by a bilingual child in learning English.
9. discuss the relevance of teaching machines in teaching English.
10.What are the merits and deficiencies you have noticed in general in the English text-books in use in our schools?
11.Write 5 issue areas in the expression and English that need to be investigated.
12.Explain briefly various techniques of valuation in ELT.
