1. What is Logical Schema ?

2. What do you mean by a query ? How are queries managed in DBMS ?

3. Outline the characteristics of a Relational Data Model.

4. Explain the concept of Renaming.

5. Which all are the Aggregate Operators that SQL supports ?

6. With example, discuss the structure of a DELETE query.

7. Discuss three NF.

8. What are inference axioms ? What is their use ?

9. Define Normalization.

10. Explain the Security problems in a Database.

11. Using an example, current the usage of GRANT and REVOKE.

12. List and discuss any 3 key differences ranging from Oracle and MS Access.

13. In mySQL, current the statement for View creation and discuss.

1. Discuss Physical and Logical Security in DBMS.

2. Give an overview of DBMS.

3. Explain any 2 Joins.

4. Discuss the core aspects associated with SQL language.

5. Outline with examples, Lossless and Lossy Decompositions.

6. Draw an E-R diagram for a Book Lending Library.

7. Discuss the basic features of MS Access that makes it a popular Database Management System.

8. Give a brief description on the emerging areas of Database Management Systems.

part – C

ans any 1 ques.. every ques. carries 15 Marks.

1. Create a Normalized Database (3NF) of Book details for a Book Vendor with fields ISBN. no., Title of the Book, its category (fiction, classic, novel etc.)

Author(s), Publisher, Publisher's address and phone number, Price and Edition. Write SQL queries to perform the subsequent operations on it :

1) Add a new field, Discount into the relevant table.

2) Fill values into the fields.

3) Delete a Book record.

4) Assume 2 classes of Users, Vendor and Public and set usage permissions.

5) Create a view for relevant info.

2. Create a Normalized Database (3NF) of learner details with fields Reg.no., Name, Course Code, any 3 Subjects he/she is studying, his/her marks for every of these, his/her address and phone number and Date of birth.

Write SQL queries to perform the subsequent operations on it :

1) Find the Names of all Students whose Total Mark is beneath 100 and who has taken a course with course code BCA 402.

2) List all Students whose Name begins with "Dev" or ends with "sh".

3) List all students and associated details in Ascending order of Name.

4) Find all students whose Date of birth is before 01/01/2009.

5) List all students whose Reg.no. falls in the range 6550-8750.
