9    Gun microphones.

10    Loud speakers.

11    Condenser microphones.

12    Frequency and pitch.

13    Headphones.

14    Speed of sound.

(10 x 2 = 20 marks)

II.    1 Briefly describe the role of a Sound Recordist in the different stages of a film/video production

viz pre-shooting, shooting and post-shooting.

Or

Represent by means of a block diagram the machines used in a recording studio clearly indicating the signal path from the source to the destination.

2 Briefly describe the differences between Analogue Sound Recording and Digital Sound Recording. What are the technical aspects which give digital sound recording an advantage over analogue sound recording ?

Write short notes on the following:

(i)    Sensitivity of a microphone.

(ii)    Signal to noise ratio.

(iii)    Dynamic range.

(iv)    Magnetic Sound Recording and Optical Sound Recording.
