Paper Code:ETEC312 Subject: Digital Signal Processing and Applications Time : 3 Hours Maximum Marks :75
\Note: 0 no. 1 is compulsory. Attempt one question from each unit.
Q1 (a) A finite duration sequences of length L has to be represented by its 'N' Fourier Transform Samples.
Prove that N > L for no aliasing.
(b) Prove the circular convolution property of DFT.
(c) Derive and explain the mapping properties of Bilinear transformation.
(d) Explain the errors in rounding and truncation when fixed - point arithmetic is used for representing numbers.
(e) Write the various window functions used for FIR filter design. Compare their important performance parameter. (5x5=25)
UNIT-!
Q2 (a) Find the circular convolution of the given data sequences using matrix
x(n) = {1,3, 5, 7} h(n) = {2, 4, 6, 8}
(b) Compute the fi-point DFT of the sequence x(n), cos jn, 0<n<7 using radix-2 decimation -in-frequency FFT algorithm. (6*5)
Q3 Calculate the IDFT using decimation -in-time FFT structure for the given
X(k) = {38, -5.828+.6.07, j6, -0.172 +j8.07, -10, -0.172-j8.07, -j6, -5.828-j6-07}
UNIT-II
Q4 (a) Design a low-pass filter if the desired frequency response is given as: (6.5)
0 n! 4 <, < rt Using Hanning window.
(b) Determine the Drder of a low pass Butterworth filter with the following specification: (6)
Pass band attention : <1 dB Stop band attention : >30 dB Pass band frequency : 200 rad/s Stop band frequency : 600 rad/s Assume T = 1
