IT 402 MICROPROCESSOR ARCHITECTURE AND SYSTEM DESIGN

1* (a)    Briefly discuss registers and their functions of 8085.    (8)

(b)    Give an account of the buses available in 8085.    (6)

(c)    Briefly discuss the evolution of microprocessor from Intel 4004 onwards.    (6)

II. (a)    Draw the timing diagram corresponding to the instruction LX1, H, 5500 H.    (10)

(b)    Discuss machine cycle, Instruction cycle and T state.    (6)

(c)    Explain about buffer and latch.    (4)

HI. (a) What are addressing modes? Briefly explain.    (8)

(b) Draw the memory map of 16 K ROM using 2708 ROM chip,    (12)

IV. (a) Compare memory mapped I/O and I/O mapped I/O.    (6)

(b)    Write an 8085 assembly language program using minimum number of instructions to

add the 16 bit numbers in BC, DE and HL. Store the 16 bit result in DE.    (8)

(c)    Explain different stack related Instructions. Give suitable examples for each,    (6)
