MODULE - I

I    a) Explain about the various generation of computers.    (10)

b) Explain the functions of

(i)    ALU, and

(ii)    Control unit of a computer system.    (10)

II    a) What are the qualities of a word processing package ? Explain briefly. (10)

b) Discuss the usefulness of flow charts and algorithms in program

development.    (10)

MODULE - II

III    a) Discuss the rules of using constants and variables in BASIC language    (10)

b) Write a program in BASIC to obtain average of 'n' numbers.    (10)

OR

IV    Write a program to multiply* two 4x3 matrices.    (20)

MODULE - III

V    a) Discuss about 'GET and PUT' statements in BASIC.    (8)

b) Write a program in BASIC to draw a nut' and move it across the screen.    (12)

OR

VI    a) Explain how you will perform animation ? What is the importance of

animation in our day-to-day application ?    (10)

b) Discuss the importance of functions and subroutines in program

development.    (10)

MODULE - IV

VII    a) Discuss about the various types of file organisation in BASIC.    (10)

b) Write a program in BASIC to create a sequential file.    (10)

VIII    a) Write a program in BASIC to print the name of students and his/her total
