IT/CS/EC/CE/ME/SE/EI/EB 109 COMPUTER FUNDAMENTALS (1999 admissions)

MODULE-1

I    a) Discuss about the evolution of computers and types of computers briefly.    (10)

b) Draw a How chart to check whether a given number is a prime number or not.    (10)

OR

II    a) Discuss about time sharing and real time operating system concepts.    (10) b) Compare the operating system concepts of BIOS and DOS.    (10)

MODULE - II

III    a) Write a QBASIC program to check whether a given matrix is skew symmetric.    (10)

b) Write a QBASIC program to accept two 3x3 matrices of integers and facilitate matrix

multiplication if they are confirmkble.    (10)

OR

IV    a) Write a QBASIC program to accept three integers and find whether they form a

Pythagorus triplet.    (10)

b) Write a QBASIC program to accept ten integers in an array and arrange them in

ascending order.    (10)

MODULE - III

V    Write a QBASIC program to draw a robot arm and make it to pick and place an object. (20)

OR

VI    Write a program to plot the graph of sin * + cos y + 50 for different values of x and y. (20)

MODULE - IV

VII    Write a QBASIC program to create a sequential file and store the name of an employee, his basic salary, HRA and DA and deductions as income tax and PF and find the net salary for 20 employees.    (20)

OR

VIII    Write a QBASIC program to create a random access file containing Item Code, Item Name,

Unit Cost and Quantity. Read data from the file and display it.    (20)
