IV    a) What are the different types of ammeters used for current

measurement ? Explain any one type with suitable diagrams.    (ll2/3)

b) An air-cored toroidal coil has 450 turns and a mean

diameter of 30 cm and a cross-sectional area of 3 cap-. Calculate (i) the inductance of the coil

(ii) the average emf induced if a current of 2A is reversed in 0.04 second.    (5)

V    a) Draw a general sinusoid whose equation is given by

Differentiate between avalanche breakdown and zener breakdown.    (3)

The breakdown voltage of a zener diode is 15V. If the maximum power rating of the diode is 500mW find the maximum current.    (3)
