Explain the relative advantages and disadvantages of different types of communication.

Summarise the passage given below to a third of its length and answer the questions given at the end in a sentence or two each.
Practically everyone who dares to say a word in favour of English in India today says it as though he was interested purely in the utilitarian aspect of the matter. The English language is to be taught as a library language - that is to say as something you use in the library, a table lamp to be switched on when you enter the august building and off when you leave it - in no circumstances to be carried away, as outside the library there will be no plug for this lamp to function. It may be used as a pair of chappals; necessary in the streets - but to be left in the passage or the verandah when you enter the house. There are highly efficient ways of acquiring skill in its usage by vocabulary control and the structure method and no feeling need ever be involved at any stage. Multiple choice tests where all one has to do is to fill up blanks with yes' or 'no' will save both the examinee and even more the examiner lot of time and a world of trouble.
