PART A

1) a) elaborate different methods for testing of bricks?

b) discuss well foundation with neat sketch

c) Draw the plan of alternate courses in English bond for cross junction of two walls of
one ½ brick thickness

d) Compare English bond & Flemish bonds.

e) (i) discuss principle of surveying.
(ii) elaborate the compensating errors in chaining?

PART B

2) discuss various kinds of steel roofs trusses with sketches
OR

3) Write short notes on : (i) Datum plane (ii) Horizontal surface (iii) Level surface
(iv) decreased level

4) What is shallow foundation? discuss various kinds of shallow foundations.

OR

5) The subsequent consecutive readings were taken with a dumpy level
