3. estimate the volumes of subsequent item of 2 roomed building from a provided plan and part .
1. earthwork in excavation in foundation
2. lime concrete in foundation
3. first class brick work in cement mortar 1:6 in foundation and plinth
4. 2.5 cm cc damp proof course , and
5. first class brickwork in lime mortar in superstructure

decreased level of ground along the cetre line of a proposed road from chainage 10 to chainage 20 is provided beneath. the formation level at the tenth chainage is 107 and the road is in downword gradient of one in 150 to chainage 14 and then grdient modifications to one in 100 down word , formation width of roads is 10 meter and side slope of banking are 2:1 (H:V). Length of chain is 30 meter
draw longitudinal part of the road and a typical crooss part and prepare an estimate of earth work at the rate of Rs 275/- per 100 cum.

a) What do you understand by Depreciation and discuss methods of calculating depreciation.
b) In plot of land costing Rs 20,000/- a building has been newly constructed at a total cost of Rs 80,000/- including sanitary and water supply works, electrical installation etc. The building consists of 4 flats for 4 tenants.
The owner expects eight % return on the cost of construction and 5% return on cost land. compute the standard rent for every flat of the building assuming:-
1) the life of the building as 60 years and sinking fund will be created on
4% interest basis.
2) Annual repair cost at one five of the cost of construction.
3) Other outgoing including taxes at 305 of the net return on the building (8)
