Q. 4. learn the subsequent passage and provide brief and relevant answers in your own words to the ques. that follow: 10 Our country is blessed with a large variety of natural resources, However resources do not make a country great. We need people, who are educated and skilled, to develop and convert natural re-sources into goods. Thus the people of a country are its greatest resource. After independence, efforts have been made to develop our resources. Progress has been made in agricultural and industrial production. New schools, colleges and hospitals have been opened in every part of the country. This has improved our standard of residing. But still about half the people of our country are poor. They do not get enough to eat and live in slums. The main cause for this is the rapid increase of population.
The size of the population has created many issues. There is shortage of water, food, houses, jobs, schools and hospitals. A large number of people are uneducated and unemployed. 3 out of 4 Indians live in villages. Due to lack of work, most of them come to cities. This creates even more issues because they do not always get a regular job in the

city. The Government is taking steps to solve these issues. Jobs are being given for the poor in the villages and cities. Houses and land are also being alloted to them. Even more important is the opening of schools and hospitals. The solution, however lies in educating the people so as to make them understand that a small family is a happy family.
