b) discuss experimental determination of calorific value of solid fuel by Bomb's calorimeter. [Marks 5]

c) The subsequent observations were made in Boele's gas calorimeter experiment : [Marks 4]
i) quantity of gas used = 0.1 m3 at STP
ii) Wt. of water heated= 25 kg.
iii) Initial temp. of water = 20o C
iv) Final temp of water = 33o C
v) Wt. of steam condensed = 0.025 kg.
compute the gross and net calorific value per cubic meter at STP of sample gas. Taken
latent heat of vaporization as 540 K. cal/Kg.
