part - I

1. a) describe 'standard'. provide its classification and discuss international standards and primary standards.
b) 3 250 Ohm, 500 Ohm, 375 Ohm resistors are connected in parallel. The 250 Ohm resistor has +0.025 fractional error, the 500 Ohm resistor has -0.036 fractional fault and 375 Ohm resistor has +0.014 fractional fault. Determine (i) Total resistance neglecting errors, (ii) Total resistance considering fault of every resistor and (iii) The fractional fault of the total resistance based upon rated values.

2. a) discuss the construction and principle of P.M.M.C instruments. Derive the torque formula for P.M.M.C. instrument.
b) define with neat sketch the construction and working of dynamometer kind wattmeter.
