Case Analysis
Mr. Raghu, owner of a 3 star hotel at Nagpur employed 150 persons to man different jobs in his hotel in 1990. Almost all of them were educated upto 10/12th standard. The salaries paid by him were high compared to other hotels in Nagpur. He given different benefits including free boarding, lodging, medical and recreational facilities to all employees. He was rated as the best employer in the hotel industry in Nagpur.

He never allowed any 2 of the employees to interest with every other while at work or off the work other than for work transactions. He did not allow even the accountant and the manager to share their personal or family issues. Mr. Raghu used to explain work related problems with every worker quite seriously. But never allowed them to speak about their needs, desires sentiments, values etc. as he thought that he was the model employer in the hotel industry in Nagpur and was meeting all the needs of his workers.

a different 3 star hotels started in 1996 in Nagpur under the ownership of Mr. Rajesh Sethi. Mr. Sethi offered comparatively lesser wages and benefits. Surprisingly, 50 employees working with Mr. Raghu including the Manager and the Accountant joined the new hotel of Mr. Sethi.
