Time: Three    Hours                                                                                                                                                                     Maximum: 100 Marks
Answer (a) or (b) All Questions carry equal marks

1

a) The major and minor axes of an ellipse is 150 mm and 90 mm respectively. Draw the ellipse and tangent and normal to it at any point on the ellipse at a distance of 55 mm from the geometrical centre of the ellipse.

Or

b) Construct a cycloid having a generating circle of 50 mm. diameter. Also draw a tangent and a normal at any point on the curve M.

2

a) A plane figure ABCDEF having the shape of a hexagon of 30 cm side, has its one edge FE parallel to HP and 10 mm above it. If the plane is inclined 40 degree to VP draw its projections keeping the corner A touching VP. Also mark the traces of the plane figure.

Or

b) A regular pentagon ABCDE of 40 mm sides has one edge AB on HP and inclined 50 degrees to VP. If the surface of the pentagonal plane makes 45 degrees to HP, draw its projections.

3

a) A tetrahedron of 70 mm. edge is lying on HP on one of its faces with an edge perpendicular to VP. It is cut by a section plane perpendicular to VP so that the true shape of the section is an isosceles triangle of base 56 mm long and altitude 44 mm. Draw the sectional top view and the true shape of the section.

Or

b) A cube of 60 mm side is resting on HP with one of its vertical faces inclined at 60 degrees to the VP. If the nearest vertical edge is 10 mm in front of VP draw its projections.

4

a) Develop the lateral surface of a 90 degree pipe elbow. Each pipe has a diameter of 60 mm. Maximum length of one leg of the elbow is 90 m.

Or

b) Draw the isometric view of a square prism, the side of base 30 mm long and the axis 50 mm long. When the axis of the prism is
(i) Vertical and (ii) Horizontal.

5

a) A cone of base diameter 60 mm standing upright is cut by a section plane such that the true shape is a parabola of maximum double ordinates 50 mm and the vertex of the parabola 70 mm from this ordinate. Draw the front view, top view and the true shape of the section.

Or

b) Draw the perspective view of a pentagonal prism 20 mm side and 35 mm long lying on one of its rectangular faces on the ground plane one of its pentagonal faces touches the picture plane and the station point is 52 mm in front of the picture plane 25 mm above the ground plane and lies in the central plane which is 70 mm to the left of the centre of the prism.
