2. Give an account of various kinds of steel.

5. What are difference ranging from English bond and Flemish bond?
6. Explain the bearing capacity of soil.
7. Explain the difference ranging from 1 way reinforced slab and 2 way reinforced concrete slab.
8. What are the 2 systems of designating the magnetic bearing of a line?
9. Sketch a typical traffic island for a city traffic.
10. Explain site plan preparation for a residential building.

11. (a) discuss the term workability. elaborate the factors affecting workability? Briefly discuss the tests for determining workability.

(b) discuss “wet process” in the manufacture of cement.
12. (a) elaborate the qualities of good bricks? elaborate the common tests carried out on bricks.

(b) Sketch a roof truss of steel for a span of 12 m. for an industrial building. presume all datas needed.
13. (a) discuss the plate load test for the determination of bearing capacity of soil.

14. (a) What all instruments and accessories are used in chain survey ? discuss chain and compass traversing.
