Part - A ENT & SPEECH AND HEARING
Discuss the merits, demerits and uses of cryosurgery in ENT.
(a)

(b) Draw a neat diagram of cartikages of Larynx and enumerate the functions of Larynx.
2. Write briefly on each of the following:
(a) KTP Laser
(b) Fibreoptic Endoscope
3 (a) What is Organ of Corti? Discuss any 2 theories of hearing.
(b) Draw a neat labeled diagram of showing parts of a multi channel cochlear implant and enumerate the indications for its use.
4. Discuss the various alaryngeal modes of communication. Draw a neat
block diagram of the Artificial Larynx.
5 Describe any two softwares used for acoustic analysis of speech.
6 Explain in detail about the calibration of audiometer with block diagram.
Part - B OPTHALMOLOGY
1. What is Laser? Discuss lasers in ophthalmology. (1+9=10)
2. What are the equipments used to visualize the posterior segment (fundus) of the (4+6=10) eye? Discuss the optical principle of one of them.
4. What is Phacoemulsification ? What are the advantages of Phacoemulsification? Describe the parts of the machine used for Phacoemulsification. Add a note on the types of pumps used in the machine mentioning the advantage of each type.
5. Write short notes on : a) Gonioscopy b) Contact Lenses

6. Discuss the production , circulation and drainage of aqueous humour in the eye. What is the normal range of intraocular pressure? Discuss applanation tonometry.
