1A) Define the following :

1B) What is Hysterisis? How do you eliminate Hysterisis error? Explain with input-output diagram.

3B) How do you measure the flatness of the surface using Optical flat?

3C) Explain with sketch, N.P.L gauge interferometer. Explain the method of checking flatness using this instrument.

4A) How do you measure the effective diameter of the thread using Three Wire Method ?

4B) The Slip guage of nominal length 20mm was measured on a guage length interferometer using red, green and violet light of Cadmium lamp of wavelength 0.6438 m, 0.5086 m and 0.4670 m respectively. The observed fractional displacement are 0.23, 0.33 and 0.71 respectively. Determine the correct length of the guage in mm upto four decimal accuracy.

4C) Explain with sketch the testing of squareness using engineers square.

5A) What do you mean by Best Size Wire ? Derive an expression for Best Size Wire.
