Q.1 (a) Define air pollution. Classify air pollutants into different categories, indicating their sources

(b). Distinguish between:

(i)    Primary and secondary air pollutants

(ii)    Stationary and mobile sources of air pollutants

Q2. (a) Explain causes and effects of inversion of atmosphere

(b) Define wind rose* Explain the importance of wind roses in air pollution studies    (5+5=10 marks)

Q3 (a).Explain the following terms with respect to leaf damage due to air pollutants:

(i) Necrosis (ii) Chlorosis (iii) Abscission and (iv) Epinasty

(b) Write short notes on

(i)    Time concentration equation

(ii)    Leaf destruction in relation to yield    (4+6=10 marks)

(b) Explain the principle, construction and uses of the Ringle mann chart for smoke measurement    (4+6=10 marks)
