Semester IV
Advanced Editing and Broadcasting of Radio News
Duration: 3 Hours
Max. Marks: 50
Minimum Passing Marks: 20

Instructions:
1. The ques. Paper is divided into 5 units. every unit carries an internal option.
2. Attempt 1 ques. from every unit. Thus attempt 5 ques. in all.
3. All ques. carry equal marks.
4. presume suitable data wherever necessary.
5. English version should be deemed to be accurate in case of any anomaly in translation.
6.Protest against ques. paper, if any, should be lodged after paper through Head of Department Study Institute. No boycott of paper should be made under any circumstances by the examinees.

Unit-I
1. Highlight the need and significance of b'cast studio and provide essential requirements of studio.

2. define the importance of field recordings and narrate the advantages of O.B. Van.

Unit-II
3. provide necessary details regarding tape recorders and define the working process of recorders. The necessary precautions to be taken at the time of recording.

4. discuss the process of audio dubbing and mixing with the help of a diagram and also mention do's and do'nts while working in a studio.

Unit-III
5. define in detail the duties and responsibilities of radio news editor.

6. discuss the principles and precautions to be taken by the news editor and also enlist the common mistakes committed in news scripts.

Unit-IV
7. What special traits do you expect in a good news reader, define his responsibilities.

8. Write an essay on the voiced quality, pronunciation and modulation needed in news presentation.

Unit-V
9. Highlight the characteristics of different kinds of microphones and define their significance.

10. Enumerate the precautions to be taken at the time of recording of programmes and discuss as to how, you would make use of sound effects.
