1. Attempt any 4 of the following: [Marks: 16]

a) Describe synchronous and asynchronous data transfer techniques used in microprocessor.
b) Draw and tag block diagram of IC 8755.
c) Compare ranging from microprocessor, microcontroller and microcomputer.
d) Draw and tag block diagram of IC 8051
e) Describe the function of subsequent instruction of IC 8051:
i) MOV A₁@R_p
ii) INC@R_p

f) List the various addressing modes of microcontroller 8051.

2. Attempt any 3 of the following: [Marks: 12]

a) Explain the function of EA bar pin in detail.
b) What is a special function register? List all the SFR’s in 8051 microcontroller.
c) Interface the external data memory with IC 8051 and discuss how data is transferred.
d) Give the features of IC 8255.

3. Attempt any 3 of the following: [Marks: 12]

a) Explain operating modes of IC 8051 timer.
b) Describe the functions of DPTR, PC and stack pointer
c) Explain the operating modes of serial port of IC 8051 microcontroller.
d) Write the format of PCON register and discuss.

4. Attempt any 2 of the following: [Marks: 16]

a) Draw complete interfacing diagram of IC 8085 with IC 8155. Write a program to learn data from port A of 8155 and out it to port B.
b) With the help of ANL instruction explain:
i) direct addressing mode
ii) indirect addressing mode
iii) register addressing mode
iv) immediate addressing mode of IC 8051 microcontroller
c) Give any 2 examples to prove the importance of Boolean processor.

5. Attempt any 2 of the following: [Marks: 12]

a) Draw the complete interfacing diagram of IC 8085 with DAC (using IC 8255). Write a program to generate staircase wave.
b) Describe DB, ORG, EQV, END directives of IC 8051 microcontroller.
c) Explain interrupts used in IC 8051 and how will you implement single step operation in IC 8051?

6. Attempt any 2 of the following: [Marks: 12]

a) Interface a stepper motor to IC 8085 using IC 8255 and write a program to run motor in clockwise direction.
b) Write a program to add 2 B.C.D. numbers. Draw flow chart also. Store outcome in any data memory location.
c) Write a program to set the bits 1, 2, 3, five of port I to one and reset the remaining bits of port I of IC 8051.
