a)    Define derived physical quantity. Give two examples.

b)    What is elasticity property and elastic body ?

c)    State factors which affect angle of contact for a liquid or fhiid.

d)    Give statement for Newtons Law of Viscosity.

k) A metal rod of length 100 cm is heated up to 100C, its

length increases by 0.002 m Find coefficient of linear expansion of metal.

e)    What is capillarity phenomenon ? Define sphere of influence and molecular range.

f)    What are the types of errors in physical measurement ? Give formula for percentage error.

a)    State types of stresses. State SI unit of stress.

b)    Define Surface tension. What is the effect of temperature and impurities on surface tension.

c)    Define types of flows in liquid using Reynolds number. Give its physical significance.

d)    Distinguish conduction, convection and radiation process fix heat exchanges.

e)    A plate of copper 4mm thick has temperature difference of 32C between its faces. It transmits 250kcal/hr through an area of 5cm2. Calculate the thermal conductivity of copper.

f)    Define linear, aerial, cubical expansion coefficients with their unit. State relation between them

a)    State Boyles Law, Charles Law and Gay-Lussacs Law for gases. Define absolute zero.

b)    Find the volume of a gas at 27C and pressure of 70cm of mercury, if the gas has volume of 2 liters at 17C and pressure of 60cm of mercury.

c)    What is the steady state of temperature ? Define temperature gradient. Give its unit.

d)    Length of Nickel rod at 0C is 90 cm. When heated upto 100C, its length increases by 1.4 * 10~2 cm. Find the coefficient of Aerial expansion.

e)    Draw diagram with neat labels showing Diffraction and Polarization of light.

f)    State the conditions and experimental setup for generating a good interference pattern.
