Q-2. What are the important theory of vibrations? Discuss in light of its impact in causing natural disaster. (20)

Q-3. What are the effect of earthquake on ground? How soil liquification takes place? (20)

 

Q-4. Distinguish between:

(i) Landslide and rockslide (10)

(ii) Flood and drought (10)

Q-5. What are the elements of engineering seismology? Write a brief account about the functioning of earthquake recording instruments. (20)

Q-6. Distinguish between risk management and casualty management. (20)

Q-7. What do you mean by disaster management? What are the salient features of disaster rescue? (20)

Q-8. Write short notes on any four of the following: (20)

(b) Ice-land volcanoes
