5    What would you do as a banker in following circumstances : 12

(1)    An unknown person walks into your branch, with a bearer cheque of Rs. 1200/- issued by a well known party who maintains account with your branch. On being asked the questions regarding his identity, by the ledger clerk, he becomes angry and refuses to answer any questions stating that it is a bearer cheque and the bank is bound to pay, to any one who brings it, without any further questions.

(2)    Shri Rajnikant Mehta issued a cheque bearing date 19.08.2010 for Rs. 50,000/- in favour of Shri Narendrabhai Parekh. The court declares Shri Rajnikant Mehta insolvent on Dt. 17.09.2010. However, on Dt. 17.09.2010 Narendrabhai Parekh presents the cheque to the bank for payment.

(3)    Your customer shri Parimal Khare - presented a cheque for clearing Dt. 24.03.2010 for payment at the bank on Dt. 22.10.2010.
