1) ans 3 ques. from part I and 3 ques. from part II.
2) ques. Nos. 1 and 4 are compulsory.

part – I
1. Solve any 1 :
i) explain different methods for computation of equivalent of redox substances. Classify redox indicators. Write a note on Cerriomeric titration. 10
ii) discuss in details about applications and instrumentation of polarimeter. Add a note on optical activity. 10

2. Solve any 5 : 15
i) explain in brief different solvents used in non aqueous titration.
ii) What is buffer index ? Write formula to compute buffer index.
iii) discuss common ion effect. How is it utilized for controlling the concentration of weak electrolyte.
iv) discuss cotton effect and CD.
v) discuss in brief Sodium nitrate titration.
vi) provide the application of high frequency titration.
vii) Prepare titration curve for Ferrous sulphate with cerric sulphate.

3. Write notes on (any three) : 15
i) Instrumentation of conductometry.
ii) ORD and its application.
iii) different methods of oxidation – reduction reactions.
iv) Assay of Sulphanilamide.
v) Theory of buffer solution.

part – II
4. explain different indicators used in precipitation titration. And provide the effect of pH, ligand and valency of metal ion on stability constant. 10
OR
What is co-precipitation and how it is decreased ? Add a note on post-precipitation. 10

5. Solve any 5 : 15
i) Write assay of Calcium gluconate as per I.P.
ii) compute pH of 0.01 M acetic acid solution (pKa – 4.76).
iii) explain on kinds of EDTA titration.
iv) discuss concept of complexation and chelation.
v) provide the application of potentiometry.
vi) discuss common ion phenomenon. How it is utilized for controlling the concentration of weak electrolyte ?

6. Write short note on any 3 : 15
i) Oxygen flask combustion.
ii) Metalochromic indicators.
iii) Filtration.
iv) Mohr's methods.
v) Factors affecting stability constant.
