Instructions: Attempt all parts of single question at one place only.

Draw the diagrams neatly and assume any missing data.

l.Q a) Convert the following: (1101.11)2 = ( )io= ( )i6 ( )s    (2)

b) Perform the following subtraction: i) 0011.1001 - 0001.1110 ii) 01100 - 00011    (2)

2.Q a) Prove the following identity: A+AB = A+B    (1)

b) How many no. of gates are required to realize the Boolean function after minimizing.    (3)

Y= ((A*+B) + (A+B)) + ((A\B) + (A.B))

.Q a) F(A,BC>D) = m(0,2,7,8,10,l i) Obtain the minimal expression using tabular method. (3) /) Realize the function f = Xm(0,1,3) using suitable multiplexer.    (1)

4.Q a) A combinational circuit is defined by the following two functions:

FI xy+ xyz

F2= x*+y

Design the circuit with a suitable decoder and external gates.    (2)

b) Simplify the following Boolean function using K map

F(A,B,C,D) = riM(0,4,5>6,8,12,13).d(2,14)    (2)

5.Q If two BCD numbers 1001 and 1000 are added with Cin-0. What will be the result obtained by the BCD adder. Explain using suitable diagram and logic levels of BCD adder.    (4)
