one method of computation to adjust isotonicity.

6 (a) What is prescription? explain various parts of 7
prescription and provide the importance of every part of
prescription.
(b) compute the volume of 80% V/V alcohol needed 3
to make 20 litres of 50% V/V alcohol.
7 Comment on the subsequent (any five) : 10
(a) Both citric acid and tartaric acid are included in the
formulation of effervescent granules.
(b) Gummy suspending agents as acacia is ideal for lotions.
(c) Hydrocarbon ointment base is ideal for hair cream.
(d) Temperature control is necessary during melting of
coccabutter.
(e) Semisolid preparations are advantageous to be packed
in collapsible tubes rather than pot.
(f) Ointment of combined iodine is known as non staining
ointment of iodine.
8 (a) elaborate the specifications for building and 7
equipment facilities needed in manufacturing of bulk
and sterile products in hospital.

9 describe hospital formulary and hospital formulary system. 10
explain about contents and preparation of hospital formulary.
