MBA third /4th Semester (2096)

Time: 3 Hours Max Marks:75

Note: Part A will be compulsory. Part A consists of 15 ques. of two marks every. Part B consists of 12 ques. out of which you are needed to attempt nine ques. of five marks every.

1) discuss the following:

a) How financing of social security schemes is done?
b) Differentiate ranging from social assistance and social insurance?
c) Mention any 2 powers of welfare officers in the factories Act 1948.
d) What is meant by prohibition of lay-off u/s 25M?
e) Distinguish ranging from welfare work and social work.
f) Explain arising out of and in the course of the employment.
g) What is the ourpose of passing the Employee’s state insurance Act,1948?
h) What is meant by principal and immediate employer under the employees state insurance act,1948?
i) Explain improper government?
j) Can an employer decrease wages of an employees by cause of his liability to pay any contribution to provident fund?
k) What is the time period to paymrnt of gratuity by employer?
l) Who can be controlling Authority under the payment of gratuity Act?
m) Define the term wages and maternity benefit under the Maternity Benefit Act, 1961.
n) Name a few agencies for administrating labour welfare laws in India?
o) What type of welfare work is done by trade unions?

3. Give your suggestions to improve Indian social security system. Also social security given in India with that in developed countries like U.S.A.and Russia.
4. What are the conditions for the payment of gratuity act, 1972.
5. Explain the salient features of the payment of gratuity act , 1972.
6. What are the legal protections attached to the fund under the Employee’s provident fund act, 1952.
7. State the general rules regarding contributions under the Employee’s state insurance, 1948.
8. How compensation is determined in case of lay-off and retrenchment under industrial disputes act, 1947.
9. Discuss the scope and object of workmen’s comensation act, 1923.
10. Give a few suggestions to improve welfare work being done by Trade unions.
11. Discuss in detail the labour welfare work by worker’s organizations and voluntary social organizations.
12. Explain the provisions of the factories act, 1948 relating the welfare of the workers.
13. Discuss the role and the scope of agencies for administrating labour welfare laws in India.
