Q2) Define the term Tanning. Enumerate different processes used in leather manufacture from raw to finished leather.

(b) History of leather
(c) EI Tanning
Q4) Differentiate between Dye and Pigments. Give the detailed classification of dyes. Discuss the methods of dyeing leather.
Q5) What is Season? What are the different film forming material being used in tanneries? Discuss the importance of impregnation coat?
Q6) What do you mean by upgradation? Suggest various quality control measures to be employed during the leather manufacture.
Q7) You have to design a party wear leather shoe (Durby type) of size 8 (UK) for men made from PU finished black leather. In your drawing show all important components.
