Wednesday, 10 April 2013 09:20Web

Time: three Hours
Maximum Marks: 60

Instruction to Candidates:
1) Section- A is Compulsory.
2) Attempt any 5 ques. from Section- B & C
3) choose at lowest 2 ques. from part - B & C

part – A [Marks 2*10=20]

Q1)a) What do you understand by auxiliary vertical plane?

b) Draw the symbol of 3rd angle projection system.

c) Why is it not possible to make a drawing using 4th angle projection system?

d) Draw any 2 kinds of lines and provide their applications.

e) What is an enlarging scale? provide an example.

f) discuss the method of dimensioning a circle with the help of an example.

g) What is an isometric scale?

h) Briefly discuss the unidirectional system of dimensioning.

i) provide 2 examples of solids of revolution.

j) Draw the plan and elevation of a 50 mm long line AB which is perpendicular to HP and parallel to VP.

part - B [Marks : eight Each]
Q2) Construct a diagonal scale to learn metres, decimetres and centimetres for a R.F of 1/50 and long enough to measure up to five metres. Show on this scale the subsequent distances.

(a) 2.89 metres.

(b) 3.67 metres and

(c) 4.44metres.

Q3) A plane having the shape of an isosceles triangle of base 40 mm and altitude 60 mm is inclined to HP in such a way that its top view is an equilateral triangle of 40 mm every side. Its base which is fully contained in HP, is inclined at 450 to VP. Draw its projections and obtain out the actual inclination of the plane with HP.

Q4) A right regular pentagonal pyramid, side of the base 30 mm and height 60 mm, has 1 of its slant edges in Hp. 1 of the base edges of the pyramid is parallel to HP and inclined at 450 to VP. Draw its projections.

Q5) A right circular cone of base diameter 45 mm and axis 65 mm long, is lying on 1 of its generators on HP. A sectional plane inclined to HP at 300 bisects its axis. Draw the apparent and actual shape of the part.

part - C [Marks : eight Each]

Q6) 2 orthographic views of an object are shown. Draw its isometric view.

Q7) A right rectangular square pyramid of base edge 35 mm and height 55 mm rests on top of a right circular cylinder of base diameter 50 mm and height 70 mm such that the axes of the 2 solids are along the identical vertical line. The base edges of the square pyramid are equally inclined to VP. Draw a neat freehand isometric sketch of the assembly.

Q8 2 portions of a square prism have been removed as shown in its front view in fig. Take side of base = 40 mm and length of the axis =70 mm. The axis of the solid is inclined at 45" to HP. Develop the remaining portion of the solid.

Q9) A vertical cylinder of base diameter 40 mm and height 70 mm resting on its base on HP is completed penetrated by a different horizontal cylinder of base diameter 30 mm and height 70mm such that their axis bisect every other at right angles. Draw the projections of the solids showing curves of intersection.
